Ground Accord – Earth Element
Ground Accord is a Japanese decorative katana inspired by balance and harmony within the Earth element.
It reflects alignment between inner stillness and the structure of the external world. In the philosophy of Earth, harmony is not passive — it is built through proportion, discipline, and quiet adjustment. When foundation and intention move in accord, stability becomes effortless. Ground Accord embodies that composed equilibrium.
The fittings are crafted from pure copper with gold and silver gilded plating, offering depth of tone and refined contrast. The saya is made from green skin wood, finished with hand-applied lacquer. Traditional maki-e sprinkled gold detailing enhances the surface, while inlaid buffalo horn reinforces key structural points, blending durability with ornamental precision.
The blade is hand-forged from domestic high-carbon steel and clay-tempered before water quenching. This traditional process produces a natural water-wave hamon pattern along the hardened edge. The blade follows a kogatana-inspired profile with a defined geometric yokote, emphasizing classical Japanese blade structure.
A meticulous 25-step hand polishing process refines the blade’s surface, completed with a traditional Japanese three-stage fine polish that enhances contrast and visual clarity.
Ground Accord is intended exclusively for decorative display and collection, uniting structural balance with disciplined craftsmanship.
