Stone Root – Earth Element
Stone Root is a Japanese decorative katana inspired by grounding and foundation within the Earth element.
It represents stability formed gradually over time — strength that does not rush, but endures. In the philosophy of Earth, true power lies in what supports everything else. Like roots gripping deep beneath the soil, resilience begins where it cannot be seen. Stone Root embodies that quiet, foundational strength.
The fittings are crafted from zinc alloy with gold and silver plating, creating a refined contrast while maintaining a balanced traditional aesthetic. Synthetic ray skin reinforces the handle’s structure, complementing the overall design. The saya is made from rosewood (Huali), valued for its density, rich grain, and natural depth of tone.
The blade is hand-forged from T10 high-carbon steel and treated with traditional clay tempering followed by water quenching. This process enhances structural integrity while producing a distinctive hardened edge line. A traditional bo-hi (fuller) reduces visual mass and adds definition to the blade’s profile. The surface undergoes a 15-step hand polishing process to achieve clarity and refined geometry.
Stone Root is intended exclusively for decorative display and collection, combining elemental symbolism with disciplined craftsmanship.
